RAETIHI (9) held on well to finish second when when resuming from a break last time out over 6f at this track after leading for much of the way. Well-placed and is going to prove tough to run down. RUSSIAN METEOR (5) was heavily backed and justified the support when resuming last start over 7f43yards at Caulfield, scoring by a long neck. Fitter for that last hitout and he is a major player again. CHARTRES (2) was prominent at the bend and finished third last start over 7f at Seymour, beaten 1.4 lengths. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run again. CAPRICORN STAR (14) returned from a lay-off last start with a strong win by one length over 6f at Pakenham. Open to plenty of improvement and must be included.
