TOWNSEND (14) led throughout last start to score an effortless 3.5 lengths win over 1m1 1/4f at Newcastle. Tougher assignment this time but he is a leading contender. NAVAL COLLEGE (2) fought on well to finish third last start over 1m3 1/2f in the LR Beauford Stakes at Newcastle, beaten 0.7 lengths as favourite. Finds an easier assignment and can feature in the finish again. STOCKMAN (11) lines up on the back of a 5 length ninth over 1m3 1/2f at Newcastle. Has solid form at this track with three wins and six minor placings from 19 starts. Should run very well. FLOATING (15) improved last start to finish second over 1m1 1/4f at Newcastle. Another forward showing is anticipated.
