THE EXTREME CAT (5) missed the frame as favourite last time over 7½f at Rosehill after he had won two races on end. Gets back but will wind up late. Will prove hard to hold out. TAVS (6) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6¼f at Canterbury, beaten 3.5 lengths. Meeting a deeper field this time but he is up to the task. NOVEMBER FALLS (14) showed early speed from an outside draw last time and led for much of the way before fading to finish fourth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 1m at this track. Generally performs well here and has registered three minor placings. One of the main contenders. POWERS OF OPAL (15) resumed two-and-a-half weeks ago over 6½f at Warwick Farm and was only beaten 0.6 lengths into fourth. Strips fitter and can feature in the finish.
