SHOHEI (6) showed good early dash last time out and led for most of the way before being claimed and finishing half a length away in third over 6f at this track. Well-placed and will take catching. AFTERLIGHT (4) made it two wins on the bounce last start when she scored by a neck over 5½f at Canterbury. Meets some better types this time but a big run is on the cards. DOLLAR MAGIC (2) continued the good recent form when she finished just 2.25 lengths away in second last time out over 5f at this track. Should enjoy a good run just off the speed. One of the main contenders. BUBBA'S BAY (1) is back from a lay-off after closing last campaign with a couple of wins, the latest over 6f at Doomben on August 30. Should settle just off the speed despite the draw. One of the better hopes.
