Classy flat stayer HMS PRESIDENT (3) is quite late going hurdling but holds leading claims if jumping cleanly. He won a valuable Class 2 Newmarket handicap and was second at Royal Ascot last season. Point-to-point winner KOENIGSSTERN (6) appeared to appreciate dropping back to this sort of trip when third at Warwick last month. Worth considering. German flat winner LARIO (7) unseated at the first on hurdling debut however booking Harry Cobden catches the eye. ONEWAYORTOTHER (8) has headed in the wrong direction since a promising third at Newbury. Might do better in cheekpieces.
