VULIN (5) disappointed last time when fifth over 1m1f at Ferndale (Dirt) after a close second at Ferndale (Dirt) the run prior. Better suited at this shorter trip so is expected to be in the finish. SMILING LADY (3) didn't make an impact at her last run before going for a lay-off on August 29 finishing seventh and beaten 8 lengths over 1m at Del Mar (Dirt). Yet to be beaten here, scoring three wins from as many starts. Has found a suitable race. LADY GOOD TROUBLE (4) closed last prep nine weeks ago when she finished fifth over 1m1/2f at Fresno. Strong top-three chance. J AND M EXPRESS (6) returns from a layoff of three months. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last time in work over 1m at Golden Gate Fields. Has switched to the Jim Gilmour stable. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
