LORD GANNICUS (8) pushed forward last time and boxed on to finish 2 lengths away in third over 1m at Ascot. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role. DAD'S BIGHEADED (6) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m1f at Ascot, beaten 4.5 lengths into seventh. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is right in contention. THE ROAN RANGER (13) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he was never in contention over 1m2 1/2f at Albany, beaten 4 lengths into fifth. Steps up a level but he is up to the task. CRESCENT CITY (1) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 6 lengths away in ninth over 7½f at Ascot. Better than recent efforts suggest.
