TAIPAN LEGEND (4) showed good early speed and raced on the pace last start before fading to finish fourth, beaten 1.2 lengths, over 7f at Newcastle. Likely to measure up. SHALMUM (10) ran a better race last start to finish a close third over 6½f at Kembla Grange after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Will enjoy a drop in class so she is ready to find the winners' list. COMMANDO JACK (1) returned from a lay-off three-and-a-half weeks ago when he was prominent at the bend before being beaten 5 lengths into fifth over 5f at Orange. This doesn't look as hard so he is a major player. AMPLE TIME (7) finished third last start over 6f67yards at Taree when she made late ground, beaten 6 lengths. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish.
