Tackling a more suitable race this time so he is one of the main contenders. NEWYEARSBLOCKPARTY (6) is close to breaking through after three consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 6f at this track (Dirt) after being in the firing line all the way. Likely improver with strong prospects. EL GAVILAN (3) was in the money two starts back at Horseshoe Indianapolis but couldn't back it up last time when ninth, beaten 4.5 lengths, at Horseshoe Indianapolis (Turf) over 5f. Finds a nice race and can atone. BRIT'S CANDYMAN (4) was safely held when second last time out over 5½f at Mahoning Valley, beaten 6 lengths, after a win at Delaware Park at the previous outing. Worth another chance.
