ALPINOVA (12) continued the good recent form when she finished just 0.8 lengths away in third last time out over 5f at Bairnsdale. Backmarker who gets home hard. Will be tough to hold out. AUCKLAND (5) improved sharply on his ninth two starts back at Sale with success over 6f at Donald two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by half a length after being in the firing line on the bend. No reason he cannot salute again. COOL HEART (8) returned from a lay-off three-and-a-half weeks ago when she was beaten 2.75 lengths into fifth over 5f at Mornington. Fitter so expect a better run this time.
