MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING (3) sat on the pace last start until tiring to finish fifth, beaten 11 lengths, over 4f124yards at this circuit. Well placed and will take some running down. VERMEER (5) won at this track and distance at his last outing 12 weeks ago. Hasn't scored when fresh from a break but generally races well with two minor placings. Among the better hopes. HOT PURSUIT (2) finished eighth over 4½f at this track when resuming last start, beaten only 1.3 lengths after being in the firing line on the bend. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time.
