PATRIOT HILLS (4) made progress last time out, finishing 4 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 1m at this track after being prominent at the corner. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. ISLAND CABANA (2) looked good at his only appearance four months ago over 6½f at Delta Downs (Dirt), finishing second and beaten 1.3 lengths. Likely improver and is among the main hopes. MACHO GRANDE (7) is a nine-start maiden who was in the placings at his last two starts, finishing third at the latest appearance over 1m at this track (Dirt). Goes well at this distance, filling a placing at all four runs and is expected to be competitive. MIND HUNTER (6) could only manage to finish sixth, beaten 22 lengths, at his latest appearance over 1m at this track (Dirt). No surprise if he figured in the finish.
