DANCE VARIETY (5) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid second at this track over 5f. Has good early pace. Going up a level this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. ICY BLAST (4) is back at the races for the first time since January 6. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 5f at Durbanville. Hasn't scored when fresh from a break but generally races well with three minor placings. Rates highly and should take some beating. Group 1 winner RIO QUERARI (7) is struggling to break through but hasn't been far away, the latest effort a third, beaten 2.75 lengths, over 5f at this track. Grant Van Niekerk has scored on him four times and is back in the saddle. One of the contenders. TOUGH TERRAIN (3) turned things around last start and landed the prize by a neck over 5f at this track. Nicely placed to keep the ball rolling.
