GARCON D'ESPOIR (1) broke through for his maiden win over 6f at Launceston last time. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Looks well placed and he is a leading contender. NATIVE CLAN (3) last appeared three weeks ago when she scored by a head over 6f at this track. Only has a small field to contend with and is sure to prove tough to beat. LADY FERN (4) showed little early speed then came with a powerful run to finish third last time out over 6f at this track. Can figure in the finish again. HALEN (2) is a two-start maiden who resumed from a lay-off last start and was beaten 8 lengths when 13th over 5¾f at Devonport Synthetic. With blinkers added expect to see plenty of improvement.
