ROYALE VELOUTE (3) wound up strongly only to just miss as favourite last start over 7f at Forbes. Will derive great benefit from recent racing. Goes up a rung or two but she is good enough to take this out. SATIN SHIMMER (11) was an impressive maiden winner last time out, scoring by 2 lengths over 5f at Muswellbrook. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Nicely drawn on the fence and she is one of the main chances. COHESIVE (1) made progress last time out, finishing 2 lengths from the winner in third when she did her best work late at the end of 6¼f at Canterbury. Finds a suitable race and can get the job done. FLYING RANI (2) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 4 lengths away in fifth over 5½f at Warwick Farm. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance.
