SMART RETURN (10) didn't make an impact at her last run before going for a lay-off on June 21 finishing 11th and beaten 4 lengths over 6f at Geelong. Rates highly and should take some beating. CASH CONVERTER (2) was a determined maiden winner last time out, scoring by a neck over 5½f at Horsham. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Jumps from a nice gate and he cannot be discounted. THE CRUSADER (7) accounted for a maiden field over 5½f at St Arnaud last start, finishing a nose ahead of the nearest rival. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Tom Madden was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. One of the likely contenders despite the step up in grade.
