KING NEPTUNE (7) recorded another minor placing last time out, finishing half a length away in second over 6f at Wodonga when he was prominent throughout. Meeting a deeper field this time but he is up to the challenge. VERBOSITY (3) finished second last time over 5½f at St Arnaud, beaten 3.5 lengths. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the key runners. ALICE DOWNS (5) was unwanted in betting last start but performed beyond expectations when beaten 1.5 lengths into third over 6f at Mornington. Minor claims.
