VIOLET AND BLUE (8) registered her first win when resuming last start over 4½f at Wellington, getting home by a long neck. Matthew Cahill was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. Looms as one of the hardest to beat again. MY TURN ASTERN (4) turned in a modest performance when seventh last time out over 5½f at Narromine, beaten 7 lengths. That followed a win at Wellington at the previous outing. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot make amends. QUICK ONYX (9) took advantage of the good draw last start and led for much of the way before finishing second, beaten a nose, over 5½f at Bathurst. Bold showing expected. CALMUNDI (11) got off the mark over 5f at Orange last start, scoring by a long neck. Must be respected now that the penny has dropped.
