VANGUARD LEGEND (10) settled well back then made some inroads and finished 3 lengths away in fifth last time out over 6¾f at Ipswich two-and-a-half weeks ago. Steps up in distance. Settles back early but winds up late. Best form puts him right in this. SHABOOH SHALAA (3) was prominent at the corner and progressed nicely last start to finish a close third over 1m at Sunshine Coast after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Finds a tougher race but he has the ability to test this field. EFFIE'S JOY (5) was in a rearwards position on the turn last time out before finishing 5.5 lengths from the winner in fifth over 1m at Sunshine Coast. Looks to be in the right race to play a big role. PROCLAIMER (9) is a three-start maiden who finished fourth, beaten 2.5 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6¾f at Ipswich. Fitter and with the blinkers added is sure to be competitive.
