FORT JEFFERSON (2) was too good for a maiden field last start over 6f at Quirindi, scoring by 3 lengths. Sure to prove tough to beat again with that win now under his belt. LA PELAGO (3) faded late last time over 5½f at Port Macquarie after showing good early speed, eventually finishing fourth. Will go forward and is expected to be in the finish. SPANNER (4) scored a narrow win last time over 6f at Dubbo on November 5. Nice weight drop so he is one of the contenders again. ALLANDE (5) has not won for over a year, the latest running third at Narromine over 5½f. Gets back but will wind up late. Will be doing her best work late.
