MISHARE (11) is back at the races for the first time since June 16. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 6½f at Cranbourne. Looks a winning chance. IN THE SUN (12) started at 9/1 last time on the back of a win at Naracoorte two starts ago but was below her best, finishing tenth over 6f at Bordertown. Must raise the bar but a big run is on the cards. PALENTINE'S DAY (6) is progressing well this campaign. Opened with a ninth at Geelong two starts back then landed the prize by a nose last time out after being in the firing line on the bend over 6f at Donald. Looks well placed so expect another big run. ALTAI RANGER (1) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing ninth at Warrnambool over 6½f after being prominent until the final stages. Likely improver who should be competitive.
