JOKER MAN (1) returned last time with a solid second at Turffontein Standside over 5¾f. Placed to advantage so expect a forward showing. VAN MEIJEL (2) is back after a break of three-and-a-half months. At the last run before the layoff he finished 11th over 7f at Greyville. Bold showing expected. SCARLET RED (11) finished third last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 5f at this track, beaten 1.3 lengths. Meeting a tougher field but on her best form she is one of the key runners. TRIP TO STATES (4) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 12 lengths away in ninth over 7f at this track. Has his share of ability and is a top-three prospect.
