SMART IMAGE (1) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 3.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 6½f at Townsville. This is a nice drop in grade so he can find the winners' list. SPEED LEGEND (3) was on a winning run of two races but last time out finished second over 7f at this track. This looks a winnable race. PRIME RULER (11) finished ninth at this track over this distance last time out. Has a strong record at this trip, scoring three times from six starts. Backmarker who keeps coming. Will be picking them up late. MONTENEGRO MAN (2) turned in a fine effort to score by a head at this course and distance last start in a much improved run. No reason he cannot salute again.
