OVERPASS (1) missed the frame last time when eighth in the G1 Champions Sprint at Flemington. That followed a run of three wins on end. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. Expected to be in the finish. WESTERN EMPIRE (2) resumed over 5½f in the G3 Colonel Reeves Stakes at this track last time out and finished second, beaten 0.8 lengths. Can feature with the right run. LADY LAGUNA (15) lines up on the back of a 4 length tenth over 6f at Flemington. Reunites with James Mcdonald who knows her well with two wins in partnership. Solid top-three hope. MAHARBA (5) was sent out at 16/1 last time but ran above expectations and won over 6f in the G3 Rising Fast (Chatham) Stakes at Flemington. Record at this journey is impressive with three wins and four placings from eight runs and should be in the finish.
