Tipstrr’s best each-way pick at Cartmel: Hopes are building for War At Sea

There appears to be a consensus of opinion within the Tipstrr camp that a modest chaser might be carrying some overpriced value in one of Wednesday evening’s jumps races at Cartmel.

It would be easy for War At Sea to be overlooked in this relatively low-key affair at Cartmel, but it is races such as these that can be a perfect hunting ground for tipsters with an eye for value.
This George Bewley-trained nine-year-old gelding has yet to land a maiden win in 25 attempts since his 2016 debut, the first 24 of which came before a 21-month lay-off that saw him miss out 2022 completely.
The road to his return to action ended in a modest handicap at Hexham at the end of April, when long-term partner Jonathan Bewley treated him sympathetically to pull him up as soon as he almost inevitably began to fade three out .
He steps up in distance on better ground here, with Bewley retained in the saddle, and his three-pound claim helps offset the fact that War At Sea sits five pounds out of the handicap.
There are clearly other more strongly fancied contenders in the ten-runner line-up, but with some bookies offering an extra place, this might be a good chance to exploit some each-way value at a decent price.
