14:15 (Stratford) Nadim
Nadim can finally get off the mark for Milton Harris in the CNRE NEC BU Family Day Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.
He has been out of luck in five attempts since joining Harris, showing only limited ability towards the backend of last season but shaping with much more promise in two runs so far this summer.
Second at both Stratford and Southwell last month, Nadim came within three-quarters of a length of glory on the second occasion and this looks an ideal opportunity to break his duck.
14:50 (Stratford) Gifted Angel
Gifted Angel struggled to make his mark on the level but could do better for the introduction of obstacles in the Milton Harris Owners Group Juvenile Hurdle.
He was consistent enough and his second in a 10-furlong Haydock handicap last month means he will be primed for this new test.
15:05 (Perth) Condesa
Condesa takes the eye as she returns from a lengthy absence in the PKAVS Improving Wellbeing In Perthshire Novices' Hurdle.
She proved quite smart in bumpers in the spring of 2021, striking up a Listed place on her second attempt at Fairyhouse before being well found out at Grade Three level at the Punchestown Festival.
Off the track since that run in April 2021, Condesa's fitness must be taken on trust but Stuart Crawford will surely have her as ready as possible.
15:25 (Stratford) The Galahad Kid
The Galahad Kid let down favourite backers last time out but can make amends in the Hook Norton Veterinary Group 'National Hunt' Maiden Hurdle.
A dual bumper winner last summer for Fergal O'Brien, the seven-year-old was then off the track for 308 days, making his return and hurdles debut at Southwell last month.
The Galahad Kid raced prominently throughout that day and it was perhaps no surprise that he faded slightly in the finish, having to settle for second, beaten just under four lengths.
As a dual point-to-point winner, the suspicion is that he will be better over further than this extended two miles in due course, but he is nevertheless the stand-out here.
16:00 (Stratford) Enthused
Enthused can defy a career-high mark in the Bryan & Heather Boskett 40th Wedding Anniversary Handicap Hurdle.
A Huntingdon winner in May, he has had to settle for place honours in two subsequent runs, taking third at Fakenham before landing the silver medal at Newton Abbot on his most recent effort.
He possibly hit the front a bit early on that second occasion and a bit more cover would help his cause this time.
16:15 (Perth) Born Famous
Born Famous is on a roll and will be hard to stop in the PKAVS Walled Garden And Wisecraft Handicap Chase at Perth.
The six-year-old mare has won each of her three starts since joining Iain Jardine's team, winning over this course and distance in April, before adding another Perth success over three miles in a chase the following month and striking over the same trip back over the smaller obstacles at Aintree in June.
Her hurdles mark now sits at 115 while her chase rating is 5lb lower, so it makes sense to capitalise on the latter, even though dropping back to two and a half miles may not be ideal.
