Southwell free racing tip: Market leaders look vulnerable in wide-open handicap sprint

This five-furlong dash looks wide open, and with extra places up for grabs one of our tipsters has his expert eye on a tastily-priced contender who came close to winning here last time out.

Early market-leader, Jungle Run, is recent two-time winner Jungle Run, who is looking to land a hat-trick here, but it’s worth noting that he benefited from a messy race last time out and will need to do more under a five-pound penalty.
Much more appealing at the price is Crypto Quest, a three-time career winner who was last seen over this course and distance just under a month ago, when finishing a promising close-up second to the reopposing Dandy Fitz, who is vying with Jungle Run for the early favourite tag here.
Despite being beaten by Dandy Fitz, Crypto Quest was notably carrying 10 pounds more than his rival that day, a margin that is reduced to just two pounds here, which should help him make up that 1½-length deficit and reverse those placings.
Scott Dixon’s five-year-old has raced under different jockeys in each of his last six appearances, and that becomes seven out of seven with the booking of experienced all-weather campaigner Kieran O’Neill, who landed a tidy 15/2 winner at Wolverhampton just three days and is more than capable of bringing the best out of Crypto Quest here.
