13.45 Haydock - Raasel

Michael Appleby's Raasel is a pretty consistent sprinter that usually gives you a run for your money and can take the Betfred Nifty Fifty Achilles Stakes.

A distance winner over five furlongs, the five-year-old was a reasonable second at York last time out in a Class 2.

The useful James Doyle gets the ride and here is a snippet of why Raasel can run rings round them.

"This horse, in and around the 8/1 mark at the time of recording, think has got an absolutely brilliant chance of going on to get the win. Just that performance in April's Musselburgh run that really is the blot on the copybook."

"Was fifth that time, other than that has looked sharp at Class 2. Yes, stepping up to Class 1 for the very first time but I think Raasel is likely to follow in the footsteps of last year's winner Kings Lynn who has gone very well in the last few weeks."

14.55 Haydock - Nell Quickly

Pete is swerving the Williah Haggas hot pot Sea La Rosa and going with Dennis Coakley's underrated Nell Quickly in the Betfred Pinnacle Stakes.

A distance winner in the search for the four-timer, Nell Quickly won a nice Class 2 at flat racing HQ last time out. Hollie Doyle takes the reins which is always a bonus and here is why Pete isn't giving up on Nell Quickly.
"Is looking for four wins in a row, a couple of impressive wins at Salisbury then was a winner at Newmarket last time around as well. La Lune won this race last year and there are certain things about La Lune and Nell Quickly that remind me of each other."
"Nell Quickly is going to be so so hard to catch should they get out the front and I think has a very good chance of doing so."

15.30 Haydock - Misty Grey

Named after traditional English weather, Pete reckons the sun could be shining on Misty Grey backers in the Betfred John Of Gaunt Stakes.

A third last time out over course and distance was no disgrace.
Richard Kingscote, who has ridden the Derby favourite Desert Crown gets the ride and here is a snapshot of why Misty Grey can cut through the gloom.
"Didn't run brilliantly at Haydock last time around, that's a bit of a worry, however, when you look at the form before that, each-way terms aren't."
"Four of the last six runs of this horse have ended in each-way terms going your way. 9/1 at the time of recording, this is a horse where quite simply the value and the form lines do not match up. That price is way too big."
