Royal Ascot racing tip: Juniper Berries ready to lead the charge in Queen Mary Stakes

Triple Time ridden by jockey Neil Callan
Wednesday at Royal Ascot kicks off with a 26-runner five-furlong cavalry charge that is set to provide not only a spectacular day two curtain raiser but also a plethora of betting options.
14:30 Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2) (5 furlongs)
Inaugurated in 1921 in honour of the consort of George V, the Queen Mary Stakes is a five-furlong sprint for two-year-old fillies and usually attracts a large field.
The 2022 edition saw the well-supported Dramatised justify his 5/2 favourite tag under Daniel Tudhope, easing home to see off the challenge of 20 rivals.
It might be expected that such a race is a graveyard for market leaders, but in fact favourites have won four of the last nine renewals and only two of the last ten winners have been priced above 6/1.
That gives hope to early favourite Beautiful Diamond, but with all but the two market leaders available at 8/1 or more, there is clearly some tasty each-way value to be found.

In such a wide-open market, opinions understandably appear to be divided within the Tipstrr community, with Gaiden, Flora Of Bermuda and Princess Chizara all getting a touch.
However, one of the most popular picks is
Juniper Berries, who has also received support in the betting, with her price more than halving since touching 40/1 in the early markets.
Winning in some style on her debut at Bath in April, she was the beaten odds-on favourite on her only subsequent outing 34 days ago at Salisbury, where she became unsettled after jumping a path before finishing a couple of lengths adrift of Relief Rally, who is one of the early market leaders here.
Charles Bishop resumes his position in the saddle, and this underrated jockey will be looking to extend his profitable record at Ascot, where his 79 previous rides over the last five years have yielded 11 winners and 27 places for a 37-point gain.
Suggested bet: Juniper Berries each-way in the 14:30 at Royal Ascot
