Royal Ascot News: Dramatised heads Karl Burke's "strongest ever team"

It's not all about Southern racing at Royal Ascot as Yorkshire handler Karl Burke is sending a strong team down from the North for the Festival which begins on Tuesday, June 14.

Yorkshire trainer Karl Burke is champing at the bit at the prospect of sending his "strongest team" yet to Royal Ascot.

The Spigot Lodge trainer is having a stellar campaign and seems to be bringing an imposing team of young fillies to the fore at just the right time for the Royal meeting.

Two-year-old Showcasing filly Dramatised leads the way after a hugely promising debut at Newmarket in which she went well clear in the final furlong to win by four lengths from subsequent double winner Malrescia.

Also hitting the road to Berkshire is likely to be fellow fillies Pillow Talk and Yahsat. Burke had the first two home in the Marygate Stakes at York with this pair as Kodiac filly Pillow Talk put a neck between herself and Dandy Man filly Yahsat to take the listed event.

Joining them at Ascot will likely be Musselburgh maiden winner Cathy Come Home who won comfortdably up in Scotland in the style of a filly who could take some stopping at Ascot too.

Meanwhile, in the three-year-old ranks, El Caballo has won an impressive six out of seven races so far, with the Havana Gold Colt entered for the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Ascot.

El Caballo, which literally translates as "the horse" from Spanish, has won at Carlisle, Wolverhampton, Newcastle (twice), Lingfield and most recently at Haydock where he saw off Hugo Palmer's useful Flaming Rib.

Speaking to Racing TV after sending debutant Brazen to win the opening race at Redcar on Monday, Burke told Racing TV: "It'll probably be the strongest team that we've sent down there on paper.
"Dramatised looks in great shape along with, luckily, three or four other very nice fillies ready to go there. The hardest thing will be trying to split them up, I think.
"El Caballo is in brilliant form and goes for the Commonwealth Cup, Yahsat will go for the Queen Mary and then we've got Pillow Talk. I'm not sure which race she'll go for yet as it's a lot of the same owners and I think they'll all have multiple entries and we'll pick nearer the time.
"Cathy Come Home is a very smart filly."
