That early market leader is Standbackandlook, who backed up a close-up second at Lingfield with back-to-back successes at Wolverhampton, including last time out just four days ago.
Connections are clearly keen to make hay while the sun shines, but Willam Knight’s three-year-old has not looked quite as effective on turf, plus the quick turnaround and six-pound penalty could hamper his hat-trick ambitions.
The favourite’s short price enhances the each-way value elsewhere, and the buzz in the Tipstrr camp is for Sheena West’s Cherry Cola, who is expected to bounce back from a sub-par performance last time out.
One of her six career wins was over this course and distance, and although it is 11 months and 10 outings since her last success (over this trip at Bath last September), her recent turf form suggests she is overdue another parade around the winner’s enclosure.
This experienced eight-year-old mare finished sixth of nine on Kempton’s all-weather track a fortnight ago, which was something of a setback following a decent July that saw her finish third of 12 at Bath and runner-up of seven at Salisbury.
Eased a pound in the weights following her most recent effort, she also benefits from the five-pound claim of jockey Rose Dawes, who has piloted two winners in her last six rides, and will be looking to add to that tally at a decent price here.
