Nottingham each-way tip: Lightly-raced Lord P ready to hit the ground running on track return

The second race on Nottingham’s card could prove to be one of the most competitive races of the day, with several of the eleven runners fancying their chances of making an impact.
14:40 Nottingham: Rhino.Bet Handicap (6 furlongs)
Sassy Belle is the well-supported early favourite, and could take all the beating if first-time cheekpieces help Oisin Murphy keep her focused on the job in hand.
Brazen Idol was in the middle of an impressive three-timer this time last year and looks nicely treated to improve on two promising runs for his new yard.
Of the mid-market candidates, it is Fergal O'Brien's
Lord P
who looks best-equipped to emerge as a threat to those above him in the betting.

While it's been two years since he recorded back-to-back successes, that was only eight outings ago for this lightly-raced six-year-old, and he returns to action fresh from another extended ten-week absence.
In his only previous track appearance this year in May, Lord P was far from disgraced when finishing fourth of 11 behind As If By Chance at Windsor, where he kept on gamely to make late headway.
He looks well-treated by the handicapper, and the three-pound allowance of claimer Ben Sanderson brings him below his last winning mark, so he might be ready to challenge for at least an each-way top-four spot at a decent price here.
