Only Fools catches the eye as a progressive sort who shaped up nicely to round off a nine-race flat season in France with a couple of wins last autumn, before switching to the yard of David Pipe, who has recognised his potential over obstacles.
Three hurdling pipe-openers set the stage for his handicap debut at Huntington eight days ago, when he was far from disgraced when finishing behind four more experienced jumpers, and ahead of five others.
Promising claimer Philip Armson returns to the saddle here, and his three-pound allowance more than compensates for Only Fools lining up a couple of pounds out of the handicap, and he looks worthy of each-way consideration.
