Monday's Ripon best bets and racing tips: Myristica going for hat-trick

Ripon racecourse paddock

Monday's evening racing comes from Ripon, and the Planet Sport tipsters have some cracking tips for July 4.

Ripon is nicknamed the Garden Racecourse as it's one of the prettiest on the circuit, not because there's a load of old men growing runner beans near the parade ring.

Here's a quick run through of Monday's selections, you can follow all the latest Ripon racecards and results by usingĀ Planet Sport's live centre.

18:10 (Ripon) Greycious Anna
18:40 (Ripon) Ramamaras Boy
19:10 (Ripon) Deputy

19:45 (Ripon) Myristica

20:15 (Ripon) Glam De Vega

20:45 (Ripon) Kendred Fire

19:45 (Ripon) Myristica

Tim Easterby's Myristica is a half-sister to sprinting stablemate Lampang, but being by Derby winner Harzand she was never going to be a sprinter.
It has taken time for her to fully mature but she holds solid claims of bringing up her hat-trick in the Armstrong Memorial Handicap.
She is 10lb higher than for the first of her two recent wins but nevertheless looks on an upward curve.

20:15 (Ripon) Glam De Vega

Glam De Vega ran with promise on both his starts as a juvenile, including when second to Walk Of Stars at Nottingham in November, and this appears to be the ideal opportunity for Roger Varian's colt to shed the maiden tag.
Wilkins is likely to be happier dropping back to a mile following his recent third at Windsor and he warrants plenty of respect with his stable currently in terrific form.
Kaatibb and newcomer Desert Glory appear best of the remainder.

20:45 (Ripon) Kendred Fire

Kendred Fire ran his best race for some time when second at Redcar recently and gets the nod in the Family Day Bank Holiday Monday 29th August Handicap.

Jedd O'Keeffe's three-year-old won at Thirsk last season but his form eventually tailed off.
Clearly in need of his first outing this season, he shaped better next time and was only beaten a length and a quarter on his most recent start.
