Monday Punchestown racing tip: Killinure Lass set to out-run outsider price
Our Tipstrr horse racing pundit has cast his expert eye over the last race at Punchestown, where he thinks Killinure Lass offers decent each-way value in the 20-runner handicap hurdle.
Killinure Lass is an exposed six-year-old mare, but is capable of showing improved form today.
16:17 (Punchestown) Killinure Lass
She has won over today's distance and is now well handicapped after dropping a further couple of pounds.
She put up a moderate performance last time out 14 days ago, finishing ninth of 15, but she was held up slightly and could have easily done a little better had things gone her way a little more to finish closer, had the effort been worthwhile.
Today she runs at a slightly further distance and interestingly, this is the distance and rating at which she last won back in June, and she has the extra benefit of carrying seven pounds below her mark, thanks to her new jockey's allowance.
From her last four runs she has only performed poorly on one occasion, which was her penultimate outing, but coming as it did after nearly three months off, I think we can forgive that run.
Prior to that, she had run much better over three miles at Tipperary to come third of 19, and notably with the same jockey on board then as today.
So with all things considered, and especially the further seven-pound jockey claimer, I see these current 22/1 odds as very attractive and would consider anything over 12/1 as decent each-way value.
