Haydock racing tip: Cold Stare has been threatening a win all year

Haydock

The 2022 winning partnership of David O'Meara and Mark Winn return and Jose Breval thinks favourite Cold Stare will do the business.

15:15 Haydock: Shape Engineering Handicap
Eight runners will line up for the Shape Engineering Handicap over six furlongs with last year's winning duo Mark Winn and David O'Meare returning to the fold.
Muscika sped to glory for the York-based trainer in 2022 and he'll saddle Cold Stare today with Mark Winn taking the reigns again.
The horse has finished no worse than fifth in all six outings in 2023 and managed to hit the crossbar three times including last time out at Ayr.

Asadjumeirah is second in the market and has previous over this distance when winning at Thirsk last April.
It's been a mixed bag since going 21 runs without a win but a pair of second-place finishes in large handicap fields this month suggest a return to form.
Danzart and Hour by Hour were beaten favourites last time out while the bottom three in the market, Mighty Power at 22/1, all have previous over this distance.
It's a competitive field but Cold Stare gets the nod from Jose Breval. He's been consistently among the places and threatening while racing from this mark.

Suggested bet: Cold Stare to win the 15:15 at Haydock Park
