Haydock each-way betting tips: One True King and Pileon poised to outrun tasty outsider odds

Haydock

One of our friends at Tipstrr has shared a couple of each-way selections from Saturday’s Haydock meeting that could prove lucrative, especially with many bookmakers offering extra places.

With an interesting day's racing ahead of us at Haydock, I am relieved to see that good weather is expected in the area, which should ensure the horses can enjoy improving ground.

I'm going to take a punt with One True King now before the price drops further, on the strength of his two consecutive third-places in February and March at Ludlow and Kempton respectively.

The last of those was over an inadequate two-and-a-half-mile trip, so he should prefer Saturday's step back up to a more testing three miles, one furlong.
Sam Twiston-Davies again gets the ride for his father, and he looks well-treated in the handicap, carrying a pound less than his last outing, which appears to make him a decent each-way prospect at his current price.

Suggested bet:

One True King each-way in the 14:40 race at Haydock

Despite being winless since 2021 and giving a disappointing performance last time out at Newbury, I am drawn by the high price for Pileon in this Class 2 three-mile race at Haydock.

He looks well down in the weights and is going to run with a mark of 123, the lowest of his entire career. He began the season off 131, and it was only as recently as last May that he was running here at Haydock with a rating of 137.
He will need to improve from his most recent outings, but if he can in any way recapture the potential he showed when winning three of his first four races, then he could make the bookies regret his current value in the betting market

Suggested bet:

Pileon each-way in the 15:15 race at Haydock
