Galway - Today’s best free horse racing tips

Echoes In Rain ridden by jockey Patrick Mullins

The Galway Races continue on Saturday afternoon as the week-long extravaganza at Ballybrit nears a conclusion on August 3.

It's a mixed offering on Saturday afternoon, with jumps fare early on before they focus on the Flat.

They race at Galway from 13:55 -17:55 and conditions are set to be 'good-good to yielding in places' on the jumps track and 'yielding' on the level.

Enda McElhinney has race-by-race selections for the card at Galway.

Don't forget to check out the full racecard, results and live odds in Planet Sport's racing live centre.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

(Please be aware selections could become non-runners after article's first publication)

Saturday's Galway selections in full:

13:55 (Galway) Apple's Of Bressil

14:30 (Galway) Toto Too

15:05 (Galway) Delta

15:40 (Galway) Thequietman

16:15 (Galway) Lady O

16:50 (Galway) Mount Ruapehu

17:25 (Galway) Magnetic North

17:55 (Galway) Cameletta Vega

13:55 (Galway) Apple's Of Bressil

Hipop De Loire is a French import making his first appearance for Willie Mullins and will need close scrutiny but Apple's Of Bressil won a Sligo bumper over 2m2½f on good ground last month after a break and should have a leading chance on this second attempt over timber.

He was third on debut at Leopardstown (2m4f, soft to heavy) in December in a contest won by the mighty Ballyburn. The stiff finish here should suit.

14:30 (Galway) Toto Too

The Gavin Cromwell-trained Toto Too remains lightly-raced over hurdles and hadn't played his cards at Ballinrobe in May when he was brought down three flights from home on his first crack at this sort of trip.

The seven-year-old can play a forward role in this competitive event.

15:05 (Galway) Delta

Puppet Master sets the standard on his Killarney second 19 days ago for Aidan O'Brien and should go close but Delta is a well-bred son of Kitten's Joy making his debut for Joseph O'Brien here.

The 130,000 gns colt is worth chancing to make a winning start.

15:40 (Galway) Thequietman

Dylan McMonagle and Joseph O'Brien could be in for a good afternoon at Ballybrit.

They team up here with Thequietman, a gelded son of Farhh that finished second at Leopardstown (1m, heavy) on debut in April.

He split a couple of fairly solid rivals there and has strong claims if he builds on that now.

16:15 (Galway) Lady O

It's already been a decent week for Jessica Harrington at Galway and she could be on the scoresheet with Lady O in this Whiriskey Refrigeration Irish EBF Nursery Handicap over 7f.

The Australia filly made a winning start at Roscommon in May over 7½f and has shown enough in two runs since at Tipperary and Killarney to suggest this opening handicap mark of 75 could be within her range, especially if the first-time cheekpieces have a positive effect.

16:50 (Galway) Mount Ruapehu

Andy Slattery's Mount Ruapehu had lost his way as a sprinter somewhat and was struggling to make an impact over 5f/6f in six turf starts this season but he took a step in the right direction when runner-up at Fairyhouse last month on his first attempt at this 7f distance.

He was closing at the line and could have more to give at this distance from an unchanged mark.

17:25 (Galway) Magnetic North

A change in surroundings has seemingly brought about a positive reaction from Magnetic North and the nine-year-old has won well at Gowran Park and Ballinrobe in claiming company in his last two starts.

This is tougher but he was impressive 12 days ago and must command major respect in his current mood.

17:55 (Galway) Cameletta Vega

Just days on from the loss of Fascile Vega, the Hammer & Trowel Syndicate will be hoping a pick-me-up is delivered by Cameletta Vega – a filly by Camelot out of their wonderful mare Quevega.

She starts out for Willie and Patrick Mullins in the famous red and blue silks and should prove up to this opening test.
