19.10 Newcastle - Lower Street
Pete is backing a 100/1 scorcher in the Jenningsbet Hoppings Fillies' Stakes.
He reckons the David Simcock runner is underrated and can capitalise on a couple of the favourites slipping up.
Lower Street was on a hat-trick till a fifth at Kempton and here is why Pete think's Lower Street can have people running up the road to collect their winnings.
"Not done anything at Class 1 as of yet but has not had the chance, was very good at Class 2 over a very similar trip at Lingfield a couple of runs back and I think incredibly underrated in this market."
"Much of the attention is going towards My Astra but My Astra has shown the best qualities on soft ground. Not going to have the chance here on all-weather. I'm going to oppose the likely favourite and go with Lower Street instead."
18.00 Newcastle - Tantastic
Pete is hoping to catch a few rays with Tantastic in the Pertemps Network Handicap.
John Wainwright's course and distance winner is a reasonably consistent performer and won at Newcastle on his penultimate start.
Apprentice Zak Wheatley gets the leg up, taking off five pounds and here is why Pete think that Tantastic can lead the field in the shade.
"I think this horse has got an absolutely belting chance here, a previous course and distance winner, two wins from six across the board so far this year."
"Yes did have a disappointing result here back in February but I don't think in this field there is anyone who has the form or the quality to take on Tantastic."
20.20 Newcastle - Crocodile Power
Crocodile Power can bring the bite in the Pertemps Education Network Handicap says Pete.
The four-year-old Slade Power gelding was a course and distance winner two runs back over seven furlongs.
Jason Hart gets the ride and here is a snippet of why Crocodile Power can rock on the Toon.
"Form lines, well perhaps a little bit strange, needed that run at Catterick last time around, hadn't run since October, didn't run well but it wasn't a race that suited particularly."
"Here at Newcastle has shown some real quality including winning a similar race towards the latter part of last year. "
