Here is a rundown of Pete's three main picks from Newcastle.
18.45 Newcastle - Coase
Pete is keen on the Michael Wigham runner Coase who has racked up four second places in a row.
This can be the time Coase is the bride rather than the bridesmaid however and surely that run of seconds can't continue in the AWC Mile Handicap?
The experienced Franny Norton gets the leg up and here is why Pete thinks that Coase can coast it at Newcastle.
"Now Coase has a great chance here, last six runs have all been at worst each-way finishes, running predominantly over this trip. Franny Norton taking the ride which I think is obviously very good for this horse."
"Some really good performances including second place at Wolverhampton last time around and a very very unlucky second place at Newcastle in a course and distance run before that as well."
19.45 Newcastle - Hot Diggity Dog
The Keith Dalgleish runner Hot Diggity Dog has Pete salivating in the Watch Racing Free Online At Coral Handicap.
A beaten favourite last time out over the five furlong distance at Wolverhampton, the Dandy Man gelding was only beaten a neck in second.
Callum Rodriguez gets the ride and here is a snippet of why Pete reckons Hot Diggety Dog is no ruff choice.
"Won here back in October, now needed the extra furlong that day, moves from six furlongs to five furlongs this time. I'm not too worried about that, I don't think this field is markedly very strong."
"That second in handicap action over at Wolverhampton last time around puts you in a good position."
20.15 Newcastle - Blackcurrent
Pete is sweet on Blackcurrent for Alan Brown, chasing the hat-trick after a pair of course and distance wins.
Both were game half length victories under Paula Muir who takes off three pounds.
Here are just a couple of reasons why Pete thinks Blackcurrent is a juicy choice in the Read Katie Walsh On Betway Insider Handicap.
"Was a career best winner here at Newcastle of late, has been winning pretty much every single race this horse has been entered into. I mean four wins from six is a pretty solid record if you want to look at it like that."
"Paula Muir has been on board for many of those wins for Blackcurrent too. When you have that kind of form and that kind of performance and it being only just two weeks ago it's hard to look at anyone else in this race."
