16.30 Meydan - Hot Rod Charlie
The eye-watering lucrative Dubai World Cup sponsored by Emirates Airline can go the way of Hot Rod Charlie says Pete Farries.
Pete isn't put off by the controversy around the American trainer and is going with pure form in the one mile, two furlongs test.
Pete's favourite Flavien Prat gets the ride and here are a few reasons why Hot Rod Charlie can make this a drag race win.
"My favourite in the big one, £5.3 million up for grabs for the winner is going to be the Bob Baffert runner of Hot Rod Charlie. Flavien Prat taking the ride, a very good jockey indeed who's been in decent form over in Riyadh of late."
"So why this horse? Well was superb in the Al Maktoum Stakes coming into this and Bob Baffert has trained winners in this race previously, back in 2017 of course had the superb performance of Arrogate."
"It all lines up perfectly for Hot Rod Charlie, who I think is a great way in for the big one in Dubai."
Other decent picks from Dubai
In the 15.55 Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, Yibir can follow his win in the Breeders' Cup Turf with victory at Meydan. Charlie Appleby's gelding combines class with grunt and Planet Sport tipped him up at the Breeders' Cup and will be sticking with the Godolphin god.
In the 14.10 Combustion can show the might of Japanese racing with a win for Keizo Ito.
A hugely consistent colt, Combustion hasn't been out of the top two in his young career and can go in under William Buick.
The 13.35 six furlong sprint can see the talented Suesa outperform his odds. The Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes winner from last summer has bundles of ability and is an each-way punt in the George Strawbridge green and white silks.
