Catterick free racing tip: Favourite looking to bounce back from unlucky setback

Catterick

Eleven lively two-year-olds line up for this five-furlong dash, and one of the market leaders looks capable of giving the Catterick faithful plenty to cheer about.

14:13 Catterick: Download The Raceday Ready App Nursery (5 furlongs)

Rogue Bullet is the gelded son of Mehmas and was last seen making his fifth career appearance on his handicap nursery debut at Bath 18 days ago.

Jack Jones’ two-year-old was travelling with purpose towards the rear and looked like he was going to pass them all like a train, until he was repeatedly denied a clear run at the two most important stages of the race.

He only found a way through after the final furlong pole, by which point it was way too late to mount a serious challenge on the leading players and he settled for fifth spot, albeit still only two lengths behind the winner.

He finished with a full tank and was full of running through the line, so he remains of serious interest and is likely to garner the same kind of support that made him favourite on that previous unfortunate outing.

Rogue Bullet has carried four different jockeys on his five outings so far, and the capable Callum Rodriguez becomes the fifth, and if he can keep him out of trouble he might just be the first to steer this lively maiden into the winner’s enclosure.

Suggested Bet: Rogue Bullet in the 14:13 at Catterick
