That was by far the best of this six-year-old gelding's three outings this term, and significantly it was his first on the faster ground that he will face here, having struggled in his two runs on soft and heavy ground in April and May.
Dale Swift is in the saddle, and with 7-15 pounds less to carry than the market leaders, Punxsutawney Phil could well be in the mix in the closing stages, with extra value added for anyone who uses a bookie offering an extra each-way place.
