Aintree Festival 2023: Mares’ Bumper tips - She’s A Fine Wine ready to mature after bright start
Day One of the Aintree festival winds down in familiar style with a mares’ bumper race, but with 20 runners going to post, there’s no shortage of betting options to consider.
Run over two miles and a furlong, this National Hunt flat race is open to mares and fillies aged from four to six years old, and is named after Nickel Coin, the last mare to win the Grand National way back in 1951.
Last year's renewal was won by Ashroe Diamond, who was last seen winning the Honeysuckle Mares' Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse last weekend, so this race can clearly be a springboard to better things.
There's been plenty of support in the Tipstrr camp for She's A Fine Wine, who backed up a close-up second on debut at Ayr with an impressive 13-length success at Southwell a month ago.
This race represents a step up in grade, but trainer Olly Murphy has high hopes of further progress for this willing mare who is set for a bright future over obstacles.
