Leicester nap March 11: The Edgar Wallace to come out on top

There’s a card full of chases taking place at Leicester on Friday, March 11 and Planet Sport tipster Jonathan Doidge turns to the feature for his daily nap.

There may only be five runners set to start the Happy Retirement Captain Nick Lees Handicap Chase (14:40) at Leicester on Friday but it looks a pretty warm contest on paper.

Cut The Mustard is likely to be popular given her first win for two years, over C&D last time. However, it's topweight The Edgar Wallace that most interests me. He won both a bumper and a hurdle, before Kim Bailey sent him chasing at Market Rasen in November.
That was his first run since last March and he clearly thrives when fresh, as he went on to win over an extended 2m5f. I don't think the drop back to 2m4f will be a problem, looking at the way he wanted to get on with things up front at the Lincolnshire track.
He's totally unexposed and is the type of chaser that his excellent trainer does well with.

So, it's The Edgar Wallace to emerge as the winner at Leicester, in the 14:40, on Friday.
