DP World Tour news: Cameron Smith makes his move at Australian PGA Championship

Cameron Smith Adam Scott - Nov 2022

Jason Scrivener heads into the weekend at the Australian PGA Championship with a one-shot lead but has Open champion Cameron Smith hot on his heels.

Australian Scrivener began the day in a share of the lead before producing a bogey-free 67 to reach 10 under par and sit alone at the top of the leaderboard.
Countryman Smith was Scrivener's closest challenger on nine under after mixing eight birdies with two bogeys in his second-round 65.
Japan's Masahiro Kawamura and Australia's Cameron John were in a tie for third one shot further back.
Scrivener started from the 10th tee on Friday and picked up shots at the 12th, first, fourth and seventh to lead on his own.
The 33-year-old insists he will not be doing anything differently over the weekend.
He said: "I'll just do what I've done the last two days really.
"I think you've got to be pretty patient out there; pick your places to be aggressive and then other times you've got to be pretty conservative.
"So I'll stick to the same plan."
Smith turned in 33 after making four birdies and one bogey on the front side before birdieing the 11th, 12th, 15th and 18th, with his only back-nine blemish a bogey on the 17th.
He said: "I think all day was pretty good to be honest.
"I only had a couple of bogeys, both on par threes, which isn't really a good sign most of the time, but I felt as though I hit my driver as best as I've hit it for a very long time, so it was nice to do that.
"It gives me a little bit of confidence going into the weekend."
