Tiger Woods' agent confirms intentions to return to limited schedule

Veteran Tiger Woods may be down, but he's certainly not out.
Tiger Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, confirmed that the former world number one intends to return to competitive golf.
After making the cut at his 25th Masters appearance last month, Woods withdrew before the third round got underway, citing his reaggravated plantar fasciitis. But soon after the tournament, he went under the knife for the umteenth time in his distinguished career to mend an ankle issue.
This further fueled rumours that the 47-year-old, who nearly lost his leg in a serious car accident in 2021, is physically unable to return to competitive golf. While that may the case at this point in time, agent and long-time friend Steinberg told
ESPN that his client has every intention of returning.
"Tiger said repeatedly he's going to play a very limited schedule around the majors, his events, the father-son, assuming that everything goes well in the rehab and recovery," he said.
Steinberg also clarified the split between Woods and loyal caddie Joe LaClava.
"Joe called Tiger to ask him and get his approval," continued Steinberg.
"Of course, Tiger gave it. Tiger and Joe are like brothers, tremendous friends. You shouldn't read anything more in to that other than Joe wants to caddie. He loves it. It's his passion. He's great at it and one of the best.
"Joe wants to work, and so I think Tiger got that. We're just moving on."
Tiger Woods' last victory was in 2019, where he won his 15th major title at The Masters in Augusta.
