Made in Himmerland betting tips: Yannik Paul and Nicholas Norgaard look solid each-way options

Germany's Yannik Paul

Golf tipster Martin Colwell has scoured the field playing in this week's Made in Himmerland tournament in Denmark, and has picked out some solid each-way selections for the DP World Tour event.

This week the DP World Tour travels to Denmark, for the Made in Himmerland tournament, at the same named golf club near Farso. A very short course of only 6,646 yards, as a par 70.

This tournament has previously been played in May and September and now it gets a July slot.
It is an exposed inland course, but is links style in set-up. There are five water hazards on course. The fairways are a bentgrass and fescue mix. The rough is a rye grass and fescue mix. The greens are bentgrass and are usually slick and so fast.
The only defence the course has to low scoring is the wind, but the forecast is not predicting much. Temperatures should be in the low 70s.
Oliver Wilson is our defending champion.
Nikolai Hojgaard returns home from the big boy's tour across the pond and has been put up as the favourite by the bookmakers at 14/1. He struggled a bit at the higher level but is now back in a weaker field.
The in-form Thorbjorn Olesen is 18/1, as is Alexander Bjork. I would prefer Olesen of the two, as Bjork despite playing well struggles to win.
And then we find another non-winner, Jordan Smith, at 20/1. Smith hits the ball a long way and has recently been over in the States, getting a brief chance on the USGA Tour. Until you see these guys win you have to be against them.
Hojgaard's twin brother Rasmus is available at 22/1. Rasmus is not having the best of a year in 2023 and based upon the level of players on the tour now, you would have expected him to have won at least once.
Adrian Otaegui usually wins once every 18 months on tour and contends 10 times in a year. At 22/1 that just about balances out as value. Perhaps a golfer to side with if in contention going into the final round?
The guy who let us down last week in play, Yannik Paul, is also 22/1. He messed up on Saturday after taking the tournament lead. Surely he is due a win soon?
Other golfers to consider - Ewen Ferguson contends regularly and can be considered a solid pick for first-round leader, as he likes to get off to a good start on a Thursday. 33/1 is OK with six places.
Nicolas Norgaard looked like winning last week but messed up on the inward nine holes, eventually carding a 74. Another golfer who is trending towards a win on this tour. 28/1 looks worth each way support.
Callum Hill contended last week and is another 33/1 shot and may contend if maintaining recent form.
The defending champion Oliver Wilson is 50/1. You do not get many golfers who retain their title from the previous year and so we will skip him based upon that criterion.
And to end with an outsider with a chance, who has plenty of course experience. Mikael Lindberg. He is in his best form for a while and at 200/1 is an outsider with a chance.
