LPGA Lotte Championship: Georgia Hall surges into contention in major warm-up

Georgia Hall raises her hand at the fourth tee

Georgia Hall fired a best of the day 66 to move within one stroke of the lead at the halfway stage of the LPGA Lotte Championship in Hawaii.

The English star's bogey-free round featured six birdies as she moved to within a shot of South Korea's Yu Jin Sung and Natthakrita Vingtaveelap of Thailand.

Two late bogeys dropped Sweden's Linnea Strom alongside Hall - who has two runner-up finishes in four events this year - at the Hoakalei County Club on Oahu.
A second successive 71 left England's Charlotte Lewis five shots further back while Northern Ireland's Stephanie Meadow made the cut as she added a 70 to her opening round 75.
But English duo Bronte Law and Mel Reid both missed the cut by a distance as they shot second round 78s.
The Lotte Championship is the final warm-up event ahead of next week's Chevron Championship, the first major of the year.
