KLM Dutch Open: Adrian Meronk looking to double up on return to Europe
The DP World Tour resumes this week with the KLM Dutch Open, and Tipstrr golf expert Martin Colwell has used his expert eye for value to narrow down the field a little for us.
At 7,445 yards in length this par 72 course is flat and exposed with generous fairways, and has a links-like set-up despite being inland. With Bermuda grass fairways and rough and Bentgrass greens, it is not difficult to shoot low here and we can expect good scores.
Perez finished twelfth last week and Meronk fortieth. Both played solid golf, with Perez delivering a spectacular front nine on Sunday, before slipping back to finish on level par.
Meronk alternated poor scores with under-par rounds, with Sunday’s two-under 68 meaning he saved the best for last, and of the two Europeans, I prefer the tall Pole on this type of course now.
Suggested bet: Adrian Meronk each-way in the KLM Dutch Open
Others to consider
The level of golfers this week appears to be much of a muchness, with a bunch of players at the same level with similar records on tour. But if we look further down the betting market we can find some value, dependent on inconsistent golfers being on it this week. I know that it is a common trait of the DP World Tour, but here goes.
Although not quite good enough to make the USPGA Tour, he can contend in this lower grade, and at 55/1 he too may prove to be a value pick if he can extend a going week into Sunday afternoon.
